Frequently Asked Questions

What hours will I be expected to work and will my schedule be flexible?

At NorthernBridges we believe in flexible scheduling. Member Outcomes (or ends as some refer to it) are what NorthernBridges should achieve by all its activity. It is not how the results should be achieved. The beauty of this approach is it empowers you, the employee, by freeing you to exercise your judgement, skills, and creativity to achieve the desired outcomes. Employees shall not fail to work the hours and duties assigned by NorthernBridges to meet the needs of its members. While we have a standard work day with business hours from 8a-4:30p there is no such thing as a standard work week. All employees may need to adjust their schedule to accommodate the needs of our members. Remember – That’s why we are here.

Will there be an expectation for social workers to provide ‘On-Call’ or ‘Crisis’ coverage?

Our contract states that members need to have access to services 24hrs/day – 365 day/year. With that said, yes, employees will need to help provide that coverage. An “On-Call” system will be developed. This does not mean that each care manager is on call 24-7. It simply means we will have a system in place that allows our members to have access to their services at all times. We are still working out the details of that coverage.

How is NorthernBridges advertising for open positions?

Our website will be continually updated with new positions as they open. In addition we will be running advertising in county-wide newspapers as well as regional newspapers to include Milwaukee Journal, St. Paul Pioneer Press, Duluth Tribune, Rice Lake Chronotype, Sawyer County Record, LaCrosse Tribune, and Wausau Herald to name a few.

How will my PTO be determined at the start of my employment?

PTO will be determined based on professional years of work experience.

What happened to sick time?

Employees will be given paid time off (PTO) to use as they see fit for vacation, sick, and personal days. PTO will be initially set based on professional years of work experience.

Will there be an annual enrollment for health/dental insurance?

Each year a 30-day period will be provided for enrollment. Once you have made elections for the year, your choices can not be changed until the next Annual Enrollment Period unless you have a change in status or the Special Enrollment Rights provision of this plan applies to you. The Annual Enrollment period for this plan is September 1 - September 30. Your coverage will be the following October 1.

What other out-of-pocket expenses will be expected for health insurance?

The out-of-pocket max for in-network benefits are $300 for single and $600 for family and the out-of-pocket max for out-of-network benefits are $800 single and $1,600 family. You have RX copays of $10/$20/$40, these copays do not go towards your deductible (no cap). You have a $10 office visit copay for in network, $50 ER copay (waived if admitted).

What are the specifics with the Short-Term and Long-Term Disability?
